God is not impressed with conventional or ordinary religiosity. It is so easy to hide behind piety and devotion while ignoring the needs of others. Our faith is more than a religion or means of saving our own soul - it is a way of life. God tells us to give him true worship: justice and tending to the needs of the weak, poor, and vulnerable with love. This is what true religion is all about. There are countless ways we can honor God each day even without being in Church - all we need to do is look around us.

We find Jesus in everyday life. We serve Jesus by serving others, and by walking in his ways and manifesting his compassion and mercy we become ambassadors for Jesus. Those who welcome us welcome God and when we are kind to others we are kind to Jesus. When we fight for justice for the weak and helpless we do so for Jesus. Living in this way will arouse resistance and even anger on the part of some. Even those closest to us - family, friends, and fellow Christians - might not understand us. Although most of us won't suffer violent persecution, we can experience rejection and humiliation. We might be tempted to cling to safety or comfort. Only by trusting God and loving the Lord above all else will we have the strength and courage to persevere.

Lord, may I always serve those in need.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
