Josiah was a young king of Judah. During his reign, he ordered that the Temple be renovated. During this refurbishing, the Book of the Law is discovered. When he learns the contents of this book, Josiah understands that God desires loyal worship and undivided hearts.

Josiah orders reforms. Idols are taken down and worship of false gods is prohibited. People are to worship the Lord alone. The covenant with God is renewed and the Passover is reinstituted.

"¡Kevery good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit." We do not need to meet Josiah personally to get a sense of his heart. From the good fruits that were produced in his life, we see that he cooperated with God's voice in his life. Yet, how do I identify God's voice in my life?

If I am generally trying to live a good life and honestly follow Christ, then God's voice will have certain characteristics. If something consistently produces peace in me, hope for the future, strength to be loving or a willingness to trust deeply in God, then this is likely an invitation from God.

In contrast, if something consistently inspires me with fear, anxiety, turmoil or a focus on self, I need to really question if this voice is coming from a good source.

Lord, help me to notice the fruits. Lead me to discern Your voice and follow You with an undivided heart.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That believers may recognize in the Eucharist the living presence of the Risen One who accompanies them in daily life.
