Have you every looked at someone and found yourself comparing yourself to him or her?

Today we are reminded that God has given each person different gifts - some to be apostles, others prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. Different people are called to do different things. It is alright if my life is not exactly like my neighbor's, there is a good chance I have different gifts than my neighbor.

There is, however, a common point. Every gift is meant to be used to build up the community, that is, the body of Christ.

Jesus reminds us that our time on earth is short. One day there will be a judgment. Each one of us is encouraged to turn more fully toward God and to notice the gifts God has given to each one of us personally. Like the gardener, Jesus is interceding for us now and, no matter what stage of life we are in, inviting us to become more fruitful.

As I look at my life, what are some of the gifts I have been given? Have I used these to help others? Is Jesus inviting me to be more fruitful in some way today?

Lord, thank You for blessing me with gifts. Help me to use them in the ways You desire me to use them.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
