Today's readings celebrate the Feast of Mary's Immaculate Conception by narrating the salvation history of humankind, from the Fall to God's plan of saving us by sending the Son to become amongst us. God invites Mary to give birth to the Son, and Mary's 'Yes!' marks the beginning of the good news.
It is very clear from the beginning that God invites human beings to collaborate in his plan. In both Genesis and Luke, we hear of God coming to call his creation. From the beginning God is with creation, loving it. To us humankind, God becomes our Father by adopting us as his children through the Son Jesus Christ.
Am I able to respond to God's loving greeting of "Where are you?" (Gen 3:9) Do I feel comfortable to take a stroll with God and invite the Father to take an honest look with me at my life as it is now?
Will I be able to carry Mary's words in my heart and say to the Spirit of God, "May it be done to me according to your word" (Lk 1: 30), whenever I hear Jesus asking something of me?
Let us pray that we may be sensitive to the voices of the good spirits that come our way today. Glory and praise be to God forever!
