"Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are many who take it." Our lives are marked by decisions and choices that we make and these may enrich us or destroy us. Unfortunately many of us choose to conform to society by making choices inspired by the bad ways it offers us. Today's Gospel reminds us that we should be prudent in making choices especially by being cautious while facing seemingly easy paths. By allowing ourselves to be guided by the Holy Spirit and by avoiding easy ways, we become more and more acquainted with God's ways and through obedience to Him, we enrich our lives. A good model of the virtue of listening to God's call is found in today's first reading, which portrays Abraham, who chose moving from one place to another as God instructed him instead of the comfort of stability. Many of us like to stay in our comfort zones by giving up creativity and avoiding challenges. In this way, we deprive ourselves of the vibrancy and richness of life. It is very important that we allow ourselves to be challenged by life.
Lord Jesus, grant us the grace to be obedient to Your call and to brave the challenges of life with hope and perseverance.

DAILY OFFERING
|
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
