God has written his law, his law of love in our hearts. God is our God and we are God's people. It is really pretty simple, if we allow it to be so. Love God and love our neighbour. It was God who inspired Saint Peter to recognize Jesus. It was God who opened Peter's heart to receive the love given through the Christ. It is our same God who gives us new hearts, who opens us to receiving the great and bountiful love God has for us, if we only choose to be open to him.

But we are so like Peter. One moment we are on track, proclaiming God, and two moments later we are wanting to have things our way, wanting to dictate how things are going to go, wanting our way, our comfort, our peace, our love. We are such fickle people, so in love with God one moment, so self-centered the next.

But our God is faithful, never abandoning us and always willing to help us. We, too are asked who we say Jesus is. By the way we live together we demonstrate what is written on our hearts. We demonstrate for the world who we say Jesus the Christ is by the way we love.

Lord lead us to proclaim You Our God by our love for You and our neighbour.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That refugees, forced by violence to abandon their homes, may find a generous welcome and the protection of their rights.
