Have you ever felt like something is missing in your life? If so, have you ever taken a moment to talk to Jesus about this?

Today a young man who has been living a morally excellent life comes before Jesus. However, he does not feel complete; he desires eternal life. So he asks Jesus what is still missing in his life. Jesus' response is not an easy one. He asks the young man to sell all his possessions, give to the poor, trust that God will reward him and to follow Jesus. This young man goes away sad because he cannot let go of his many possessions.

Yet what if the story did not end there? What if this person had the courage to speak honestly with Jesus? If he told Jesus about the real difficulty he was having in letting go of his possessions, how would Jesus respond to him?

Is there something in my life (a behaviour, relationship or thing) that puts distance between Jesus and me....but I find it very difficult to let go? What if I took a moment and told Jesus about this very real struggle or fear...and then listened to him?

Lord, be with me in my weakness. Lead me to freedom. Lead me to eternal life

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
