O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his steadfast love endures forever!

If God loves us unceasingly, why is there suffering at all?

The call to be Christian is both a gift and a task. It is a gift because our faith in God, which itself is gratuitous, gives us the strength to bear witness to Christ, every moment of our life.

It is a task because our Christian call demands commitment from our side. When we bear witness to Christ, a certain amount of suffering is imminent, but God will give us the grace to overcome it.

Suffering becomes a burden only when we forget that God's grace is sufficient for us or we forget that Christian commitment entails a certain discomfort.

Lord, help us remember that You are a loving God. May we be aware of Your steadfast love every moment of our life.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
