'I desire mercy, not sacrifice'.

Amos prophesies to Israel 'a famine of hearing the words of the Lord'. Today, when there are few who speak the word of the Lord and give hope to those who need it most, we derive hope from Jesus, who came especially for the tax collectors and sinners.

There are millions of people longing for hope and searching for meaning in life. The old, the sick and the youth - who shun the challenges of life - are all looking for hope. At times, they might even resist us especially when we approach them with a superior attitude. On the contrary, kind, sustained accompaniment will help them experience the love of Our Lord.

Lord, we understand that we may not get instant results when we speak your word, but we realize that it is the sick who need a physician. Give us the patience to be there for those who need your love, joy and peace

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
