"... I am the light of the world." (Jn. 9:5)

Jesus is the light of the world. As His followers, we care called to reflect the light of Christ in our daily lives. This means that we are to be bearers of the Good News to others. Are we Christ's light to others around us? If we are not, then we can be considered as 'blind' like the Pharisees who were spiritually blind. Their spiritual blindness led them into the rejection of what Jesus taught. Such blindness can only be removed by faith in Jesus as in the cure of the blind man in today's Gospel reading.

To remove this blindness also entails a daily conversion and to rely on Jesus as the Shepherd. Can we be what the Psalmist said in Psalm 23. "The Lord is my shepherd. There is nothing I shall want?" Are we daring enough to admit or acknowledge that Jesus is our Saviour and Lord? If so, this should lead us into loving actions to those who are poor and needy as what Christ did for the blind man. How did we respond to the recent flood victims when disaster struck them?

Lord, You are our shepherd and with You, there is nothing we shall want.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
