In today's gospel, there are two points which strike me very much: one is one's own initiative; the other is the power of God. One's own initiative could also be interpreted as one's willingness to cooperate with the Lord. Very often, we feel very incapable and limited in the mission or work which is entrusted to us. That sense of incapability can easily lead us to disappointment, despair, complaints and grudges. In fact, what God wants from us is the little contribution we can make. Then he will accomplish the rest. Precisely, only in and through our limitations and unworthiness can others see God's hand in our great works. Jesus has fed 5,000 men with few loaves of bread and so has revealed that for God nothing is impossible. The almighty God we Christians believe in is also Love itself, or the source of love. With such faith, we have the reason to love, to hope, to live joyfully and peacefully cooperate with what God wants us to do in our life despite our limitations and incapability for we well know that nothing is impossible for him.

Lord, increase my willingness to cooperate with You and teach me to trust You more.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
