"This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends." Jesus invites us to respond to his love by opening our arms to others with unconditional love. We are called to love without counting the cost because we are who we are as a result of his love for us. Therefore, without loving we cease to be ourselves and, in not giving thanks for God's mercy and faithfulness among God's people, as the psalmist does, we may fail to remember where we come from and fail to live in keeping with that love which is what makes us authentic witnesses. In today's world, with individualism taking a strong hold on our society, there is a threat to witnessing to this love. Nevertheless, as we keep this commandment dear in our lives, the Holy Spirit will always be with us, strengthening us in our weaknesses, holding us up as we fall and inspiring us in our hopelessness. The support of the Church is of great importance on this path because it is here that we find Christ and His Word, and can reconcile with him and the community of believers.

Lord, grant us the grace always to turn to You in order to grow in loving unconditionally.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
