It was out of humanity and loving concern that Mary visited Elizabeth, who conceived a son in her old age. Mary was also pregnant with Jesus at the time. But her own pregnancy did not deter her and so she travelled all the way to the town in the hill country where Elizabeth lived. When they met, Elizabeth appreciated Mary for her belief in God, and thanked her for bringing the Peace of Christ to her: "For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy" (Lk 1:44).

When we received baptism, we became Christ's follower. We should possess his image and live in him always. We have to serve the Lord (Rom.12:11) with great reverence such that we can become his instrument, and manifest his loving concern for the world. Mary is a good model for Christians. She teaches us that, whenever we face sickness, sadness, struggle or sorrow, we must trust and stay close to Jesus Christ; Through him we have the strength to overcome our difficulties, and, with him, we can bring joy and peace to others.

Lord, we look forward to that new life and joy.Lord, together with Mary, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, may we praise and glorify You.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
