"Christ Jesus emptied himself... being born in human likeness."

Quite often we portray God as all-powerful, all-knowing and supernatural. In the Old Testament, the Israelites understood God as their creator, a God who ruled his people with laws. Their knowledge was mediated through prophets and they feared that they would die if they met God face to face.

However, the first reading tells us that Christ Jesus revealed himself as someone who is weak, born in human likeness - made weak because of his love for us. He faced death at the hands of his own creation, all because he wanted to reveal the true nature of God as boundless love.

Lord Jesus, you are the fullness of revelation. You became human so that we may see, touch, hear and experience You, in a way that we are used to. Give us the grace to share this experience with others every day of our life.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
