"Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of my brothers and sisters you did for me." Who are the least among us? With the modern fast-paced life, we have little time to think about the least of our society. However, Jesus tells us that we will be judged for not spending time and resources for this category of people. This feast reminds us of the Day of Judgment at the end of the world. However, this judgment is not so much a condemnation as an invitation to share in Our Lord's glorious Kingdom. A secular king may use threats or impose difficult conditions in order to maintain peace. Jesus' only condition for us is to love the least in our society, and so to share the glory of God's Kingdom. How should we love the least of our society? This love is manifested through acts of charity and communion with the oppressed, the disabled, and the outcast of society. In order to be able to carry out this rather difficult mission, we should remember that, Jesus, who has already achieved victory over death, always looks after us and tends us as his sheep. As an act of gratitude, we should also do the same to those around us.
