A person's inner being and worth is known only by good deeds; just like a good tree is known by its fruit. The human heart and words that emerge from the heart reveal a person's attitude. We are called as "disciples" to hear the Word of God not only with enthusiasm, but to genuinely respond to it with actions. It's bending one's life to God's ways, especially in relationships with everyone around us. The bamboo that bends is stronger than the oak tree that resists! The stiffest tree is most easily cracked, while the bamboo or willow survives by bending with the wind! So too, when we pray and are able to switch minds to the mind of Christ, our prayer has already been answered.

When Jesus prayed before his Passion: "Father, not my will, but Yours be done" ... Jesus proved by his acceptance of his Father's Will, that he had fulfilled the mission for which he was sent on earth.

The words of the Gospel never allow us to live in self-satisfaction. They challenge us to repeat the truth of Mary's Fiat... "Let it be done to me according to Your Word". To listen to God's word is to let go of self and bow to his embrace, to go that extra mile show the other cheek, give till it hurts!

Father may your will be done in me, as I surrender to You!

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
