The author of today’s first reading reminds us of the pre-existence, incarnation and exultation of Jesus, the climax of God’s word to humanity.

Consider how the Word of God is incarnated in humanity. Jesus comes from Nazareth in Galilee. His baptism marks the beginning of his ministry in Galilee. This itinerant preacher proclaims the good news: “This is the time of fulfilment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

The incarnation of the Word of God in humanity takes place in our daily lives. Jesus calls disciples from among everyday ordinary workers, who, without making a fuss, quietly leave behind their securities and follow him. Let us, in turn, be aware of how Jesus calls us in our everyday ordinary lives.

Father, we pray you to give us the faithfulness that you gave your own Son, so that, under Christ’s leadership, we may make the pilgrimage of the mysterious destiny of suffering and glorification with him, towards fulfilment through Christ and in Christ Jesus.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
