In this world of instant results, the growing culture of impatience can leave us frustrated and angry. With rapid technological advancement, even our expectation of "instant" has become faster. Being well integrated in this society and culture, we too risk impatiently craving for more. In the natural world, growth and maturing happen in a gradual way. Jesus uses a seed to remind us that the irresistible and mysterious work of grace also happens automatically once the seed of faith is sown in persons and societies. This reminds anxious parents to let their children grow naturally by providing the right conditions for their development. We need to be constantly renewed in trusting the inner dynamism of the Spirit. Figuring out the right formula for inner peace alone will not suffice. We have to recognize the development of goodness amidst the growing culture of decay. We can do this enthusiastically by developing a spiritual sensitivity. In the presence of God, even a small act of love can produce fruit beyond our expectations.
Lord Jesus, we acknowledge you as the sower and harvester of the seeds of eternal life. Help us not to overlook the new quality of life growing to fruition within and among us. Teach us to be patient, trusting and hopeful, to be enthusiastic in promoting life without looking for results.

Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others.
