This parable of the vineyard and the tenants reminds us of our main duty on our earthly journey: to be stewards of God's creation. Jesus has given us the blueprint of the exemplary steward: the one who is ready to give up everything for the sake of the vineyard entrusted to him/her. We are also reminded of the need to free ourselves from "inordinate attachments" or "Global indifference" as Pope Francis puts it. In our daily life, we are to witness to our Christian life with a constant gaze at the Creator who has generously given us life and all that we are. Therefore, this stewardship should be manifest in the way we relate with the environment as well as in our interpersonal relationships. Are we caring enough, like Tobit, so as to share our resources with the poor, the oppressed, the dying and even the dead? Are we ready, without feeling shame, to accept to be the builders' rejected stone so that we may be instruments of God's love on earth? The world today calls us to open our hands, our hearts and mind more and more to the cry of our neighbours. In order to reach this goal, we also need to attune ourselves constantly to Jesus, who is the source of all courage and strength.

Grant us, Lord, the grace to be instruments of joy, peace and consolation to our neighbours.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
