Jesus is the fulfillment of all the prophecies and yearnings of humanity. This is clearly evident in the very way Jesus announces the Kingdom that has already come among us: he opens the eyes of the blind, and the ears of the deaf; the sick are healed, the dead are raised. Clearly by his very presence among us a transformation of humanity happens and is continuing to happen.

On this third Sunday of Advent we rejoice that the coming of the Messiah is near at hand and Isaiah proclaims the joy in all creation! Have we faith enough to rejoice as well! Don't we see the good that takes place around us all the time, in spite of the horrors of fraticides and genocides? Sure the horrors of war and turbulence in a disturbed nature (earthquakes and floods) are bound to frighten us. But our faith and hope in a loving and caring God should make us rejoice: open our eyes to the light of God's goodness. John the Baptist never lost faith in Jesus, he is the greatest prophet announcing the coming of a new Age, the coming of the Messiah, and yet he himself never witnessed the miracles worked by Jesus! So it must have been a great joy to hear in prison that what/Who he had foretold has already come!

Lord open my eyes to see You in everything and everyone.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
