The Son of God Incarnate touches Creation with his own flesh. Human flesh, sadly, may diminish unnaturally fast in the events of famine, malnutrition or illnesses; worse still, the process of decay may be aggravated by abuses of various kinds.

The Son of Man decides to walk the Galilean country as a minister - he preaches, teaches, and heals. In today's gospel, we see Jesus curing a man suffering from a virulent skin-disease. The poor man was pleading to be cleansed. Jesus felt sorry for him. He stretched out his hand, touched him, and said to him, 'I am willing. Be cleansed.' He was cleansed. In his touch and words, Jesus is saying: I am with you, my fellow Man.

Yes, the incarnated Son of God is with us in every respect of our humanity, even as his own flesh suffers total defeat by dying on the Cross. But the Father gives the Son victory over Death by resurrecting him. Through his flesh Jesus the Son shares our humanity; through the Resurrected Body of Jesus the Christ we share God's glory.
