Imagine that you are one of the disciples living in the 1st century. Imagine that you are sent on mission by Jesus. Imagine Him telling you to "proclaim the Kingdom of heaven is near; to cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out devils" (vv 7-8). Do you think you can do it? What have you seen Jesus doing? Has He proclaimed the Kingdom of heaven is near? Has He cured the sick? Has He raised the dead? Has he cleansed the lepers? Has he cast out devils? YES! Now, He asks you to do the same! Can you do it?

What does it take to do God's will? It takes faith, discernment, and courage. It is not a matter of whether we can humanly do it or not. A call of God to be on mission is always do-able. Not with our own human intelligence, talents, and resources. A call of God is always energised with the power of the Holy Spirit. For "nothing is impossible to God" (Luke 1:37 - Annunciation).

To do God's will calls for detachment. It calls for total reliance on God to supply our daily needs. That's why Jesus told the disciples, "don't take any money with you; don't even carry a duffle bag with extra clothes and shoes" (vv 9-10, Living Bible).

Jesus' disciples in the 1st century went on to do great things for God. Will you now in the 21st century do great things for the "greater glory of God?"
