We can never judge life by outward appearances. The world can seem very unfair at times - it seems that evil people thrive and the righteous suffer and die. Wisdom assures us that the wicked are living a lie - the righteous are precious to God and they are always in His hands. Others die in the prime of life - they are not ready to leave this world, but their lives are cut short. We fear our own death and grieve when loved ones die, but they are with God. There is no cause to fear or to grieve.

The proof of God's love and care for us is that Christ died for the ungodly and the sinners - in other words, most of us! God is willing to go to any lengths to rescue us and bring us home. How do we respond to that great love? Jesus left us the same message - he insisted that he would never drive away anyone who came to him. He has only one wish: to grant us eternal life and bring us home to the Father. As a special gift, the eternal life offered to us by Jesus begins in this life - it is living in the presence and awareness of God. Eternal life is now; it is knowing and experiencing that we are loved by God and are a vital part of Him.

Lord, may I live in Your presence each day of my life.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
