Both the Psalmist and St Paul speaks about "my mother's womb". The Psalmist acknowledges God being at the center of his creation. God was the One who created him. God was the one who knitted him together in "my mother's womb" (v 13). St Paul saw in his calling as an apostle (one who is sent) - an act of God. He saw himself as one "specially chosen ... while ... still in my mother's womb" (v 15).

What is the significance of these words - "my mother's womb?" It is significant because it shows to the Psalmist that his being, his existence, was God ordained. God was there right from the moment of his conception. God was personally involved with the life of the Psalmist as One Who looked into every intricate detail that made him who he is. For St Paul, his apostleship was a vocation from God even before he was born. He called this - the "grace" of God.

Do we sometimes feel insignificant? Do we feel that we do not matter to anyone; that we do not matter even to God? Be assured that we matter very much to God - because God is the One, Who has "knitted" us together in our mother's womb. And just like how St Paul was called; each of us has a vocation from God. We were each created by God for a special purpose in God's plan for our lives.

Lord, help us to be like Mary, sit at Your feet and listen to You, in our daily lives.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That consecrated religious men and women may bestir themselves, and be present among the poor, the marginalized, and those who have no voice.
