Today's Gospel reading talks about the missionary activities of the apostles, namely, healing, exorcism and preaching. This is Jesus' mission and as disciples of Jesus, we are called to continue this Mission wherever we are. This mission is to destroy the power of evil and help bring health and wholeness in one's life. It is to be accompanied by a radical way of life in poverty i.e. free from excessive material possession/accumulation and preoccupation that become obstacles thus preventing us from being true witnesses of Christ.

All these presuppose that there is faith and trust in the Lord's presence and who is in partnership with us in our efforts to share the Good News especially among the poor and rejected in society.

The first reading from Hebrews describes the awesome occasion when the law/covenant was given at Mt. Sinai. Yet in Jesus we experience God's unconditional love that surpasses all temptations and sinful habits. This is because Jesus, our mediator, has shed his blood on the Cross for our sins. Moreover Jesus preached about mercy, forgiveness and reconciliation.

"Lord, help us take up the courage to live a life worthy of God's love as shown in the radical and simple way of life, bearing Jesus in our hearts and sharing this Good News with others."

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
