If I love those who love me, my reward is an increase in their love for me. If I love those who hate me, my reward is an increase in God's love. Loving one's enemies is an invitation to moral heroism and sanctity in the kingdom of GOD, or the vision of GOD. Of the many radical things said and done by Jesus, his unflinching emphasis on love was the most radical of all.

Love was and is the greatest commandment: his prime directive.....Love for GOD, for self, for neighbour, for stranger, for alien, for outsider, for outcast and enemy....As Jesus himself modeled. The new commandment of love (John 13:34) is not based on structures and beliefs. LOVE is enshrined in everything we need to do. Love has de-centered everything else. It is now the priority of all that we say and do.

Lord, teach me to love as You did.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That Christian communities, especially those who are persecuted, feel that they are close to Christ and have their rights respected.
