"The Father and I are one." (Jn.10: 30).
This reflects the intimate relationship between Jesus and Father God! This is what we, as Children of God, desire and long for. This deep relationship of LOVE brings us to obedience borne out of God's 'pure love, which also brings fulfilment and blessings. The blessings are:
1. The eternal life that brings happiness to all who believe.
2. A Life that would know no end, for we believe that our life on earth does not come to an end, but instead changes to a new beginning in the light of God.
3. A secured love that brings us the hope that 'God's excessive love is our only security.'(Bl. Nicolas Barre)
Our faith experience assures us that our life on earth depends totally on God's unconditional love to us. This love is to be shared with all regardless of race, culture or creed.
The first reading refers to the Gentiles in Antioch, where Barnabas saw the need for accompaniment for all the believers. So, Paul was the one to meet this demand for both Jews and the Gentiles.
It is in Antioch that believers were called 'Christians' where their lives won respect and admiration.
Our Triune or Trinitarian God's love is reflected in the relationship of all the followers of Jesus. This is manifested in our God-conscious behaviour with others. May this be our daily challenge!
"Lord, may our Easter promises bring us closer to God to reflect God's love in Actions."
