Jacob's dream was a bit more than just a dream - it was a vision and revelation. The spirit world was open, and he saw angels descending to earth and ascending to heaven again. God reassured Jacob and promised that he would be with him always. When Jacob awoke, he exclaimed that God had been present but that he had not known it. This is often the case with us - God is present, but we are unaware. Our hearts and minds, along with our inner spiritual senses, need to be trained to be more sensitive and observant. God is indeed always with us. Jesus carried healing and life within him.

A woman suffering from a flow of blood was healed by touching the fringe of his cloak. His cloak was not magic - she was healed through the force that flowed through Jesus and her own faith. We have to be open to healing for it to occur. The crowd at Jairus' house thought Jesus was crazy because he insisted the little girl was not dead but sleeping. Once again, the life force flowed from Jesus into the girl, and she was brought back to life.

Jesus is about life, not condemnation and punishment, and his firm desire is for us to be healed and joyful, experiencing life to its fullest. Let us approach Jesus with that expectation.

Lord, grant me new life each day.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
