A good and holy life does not always bring praise and approval. It can stir resentment and fear in others, and they sometimes try to bring the good person down. The good person is a challenge to them and reminds them of what they should be and could be. Leading a just and holy life is one of the most effective ways of serving God and proclaiming the Gospel, but we should be prepared to meet opposition.
No one seemed to know who Jesus was or the nature of His mission. His presence always stirred up controversy and turmoil. Some believed that Jesus was sent by God, while others denied it. They even insisted that he could not be the Messiah because they knew where he was from, and when the real Messiah would appear, no one would know his origins.
Ironically, they did not have a clue where He came from, for He came from God the Father. We will all have to decide for ourselves who Jesus is for us. We cannot confess another person's faith; our faith must be our own, and we have to make that faith our guiding star throughout our life. We can ask ourselves each day, 'Who is Jesus for me?' and then let the answer flow from our hearts.
Lord, help me to lead an upright and holy life.

DAILY OFFERING
|
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
