Protection doesn't come from the strength or magnificence of a building but from justice and integrity and walking in the ways of the Lord. There is nothing magical about a temple. Our protection comes from walking in the ways of the Lord and from promoting justice and integrity. Many people mistakenly presumed that God would never permit His house to be destroyed, but they were wrong, twice. When people were no longer worthy of the temple, it no longer enjoyed protection. We should not depend on magnificent structures or institutions but on the Word of the Lord.

In this parable, Jesus was talking about bad seed being sown in the same field as good seed. The owner advised to let them grow together and, at harvest time, the weeds would be taken first and destroyed, prior to harvesting the good crop. Today we have manyexamples of the good seed of the Gospel being sown but often being drowned out by fake news. We must always cling to the good news of Jesus Christ, knowing that the truth of the Gospel will prevail in the end.

Lord, help me to cling to Your truth.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
We pray for the elderly, who represent the roots and memory of a people; may their experience and wisdom help young people to look towards the future with hope and responsibility.
