As Jesus continues His dialogue with Nicodemus, He makes some important statements. God loves the world - the whole world and not just parts of it. He loves it so much that He gives His only Son to die a terrible death as the uttermost proof of that love. God did not send His Son to condemn the world but to bring it to life, a life that never ends. Whoever believes in Jesus, whoever surrenders their whole life to His Way, will never be condemned. We can only be distanced from Jesus by rejecting Him and His Way. He made us for Him to share His life and love forever. It is never God who abandons or rejects us; it is we who abandon Him. We are our own judges when we deliberately prefer darkness to light. We put ourselves beyond the reach of His love, which is there and only waiting for us to turn back.

On the contrary, the one who "acts in truth comes into the light to make clear that his deeds are done in God. It might be good for us to reflect today on those dark corners of our life - present and past - which we keep hidden from others. Why do we hide these things? The person who lives in the light, the person of integrity and wholeness, has nothing to hide.

Lord, You have come that they may have life!

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
