The prophet Malachi was bringing a message from God. God was not pleased with the people. Many said there was no use in following God's way because the evildoers were prospering. How typical that way of thinking is in our own society. Yet what is more important - to prosper materially or spiritually? God promised that He would have compassion on those faithful to God's way, and they would receive justice. Justice may take a while, for God's timing is not ours. We must choose whom we will serve.

Jesus had just given the disciples the prayer we know as "The Lord's Prayer." Here He continued teaching them about the value of persistence in praying. God honours the person who prays consistently and who offers a persistent prayer. God always listens to us and hears our prayers, especially the prayers of those who pray with a humble and contrite heart. We should never tire of praying even when we don't see immediate results. Let us continue to pray for our loved ones knowing that God hears and honours our prayers.

Lord, help me to remember that You want me to share the desires of my heart.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
We pray for the Church, that she may adopt LISTENING AND DIALOGUE as a lifestyle at every level, and allow herself to be guided by the Holy Spirit towards the peripheries of the world.
