The statement made by Philip in today's Gospel still resonates among us today. There are many in this world, faithful and unbelievers alike who are constantly seeking definite proof of the existence of God. However, we all know that there can never be empirical proof because God is above all things physical.

The only proof that we can find lies in us all. Jesus Himself gave us this answer to the question that was posed by Philip, "to have seen Me is to have seen the Father." Of course, we know that Jesus is the Son of God so when we see Him, we are looking at the face of God. But what about us who have no opportunity to see Jesus face to face?

When we see a person, we often remark how similar they are to one of their parents. But how do we know that? There are always physical sign, as well character traits, that show us this similarity. The same logic can be applied to us as children of God. Since we are made in the image and likeness of God, people should be able to see the image of God in us. God is love and if we are made in that image, then we too should project that image of love to all whom we meet.
