What helps us to prepare for Holy Week? The predicament of Prophet Jeremiah demands that we either side with him or with those who set up the insidious plot against him. Their plot is to blot out him totally from the memories of the people. In our current trend, with the manipulation of Artificial Intelligence, it is easy to instigate people to rally behind an insidious move to assassinate the innocent reputation of others. Holy week is not about instigating the same murderous intent on anyone. In fact, it tells us to refrain from doing so because the Lord God will defend His servant in truth. His truth is not diluted by threats. While we admit that the persecution from the world is real, we can rely on the truth that God is merciful and trust His providence will come to support our honest cause.

The psalmist trusted God with an open heart and mind. His tireless plea reminds us that we need God's justice, especially so in these troubled times that we live in. Where do we take refuge? Jesus knew the authorities disliked and dismissed His teachings. However, He also knew His preaching and good deeds testified a resemblance of the prophets in the minds of the people. He indicated to them true justice is God's prerogative. Both Prophet Jereimah and the psalmist recognised the justice of God while the chief priests and Pharisees failed to acknowledge this.

Lord, You have entrusted Your kingdom to us, help us to uphold the innocent and vulnerable.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day jul be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
