The Assumption of Mary is celebrated within the Eucharistic liturgy. The Church's early tradition and official dogma establishes this belief that it is not a separate event disconnected from Christ Jesus' Incarnation to Ascension. In fact, Scriptures amplify the glory of God at work in Mary's whole life. Finally, to be assumed into heaven, body and soul, in the entirety of the person, reflects that all is saved. God did not want that sinless body to decay. Jesus proclaims, "all that the Father gave Me I should not lose," Un 6:39). the Assumption of Mary is a testimony of this assurance that nothing is lost.

Mary's saying, "Henceforth, all ages will call me blessed" is deeply connected to God as the cause, rather than her own merit. Mary is a model of intergenerational faith and hope for ages to come. The presence and power of the Holy Spirit has emerged by stages in Mary's life. She accepted her mission with uncompromising faith and obedience because she believed God would fulfill His word.

We too are destined for the same fulfillment of the Lord's Word, even though our bodies are attached toward earthly inclination. Therefore, we too must be intentional in liberating ourselves from earthly bondage, regain our sacred dignity and image, and unite ourselves with God in intimacy. In Mary's Assumption, the whole progress of salvation is initiated and accomplished by the Lord, with our cooperation.

Lord, we trust in Blessed Mary - our future is blessed because she directs us to You.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day jul be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
For mutual coexistence.
Let us pray that societies where coexistence seems more difficult might not succumb to the temptation of confrontation for ethnic, political, religious or ideological reasons.
