The sign of Jonah is one of submission not of eloquence that brings repentance. The people of Nineveh repented after hearing Jonah simply warned them about the destruction of their city. The sign of the Queen of the South is about wisdom that comes from God. She journeyed all the way to listen to the wise words of Solomon.

However, both of these signs point to something larger, that is, Jesus, who is the ultimate sign. St Paul succinctly points this out to the Romans when he says that the Good News promised by God from long ago is about the Son of God. He is Jesus Christ Who took on flesh as a descendant of David, died, but rose again from the dead, and thus was given all power.

Through Him we received grace and the apostolic mission to preach the obedience of faith. We are called to mission, to witness to Jesus, and not be laid back in our faith. We proclaim the Good News not by spectacles and signs, but by a life of humility, mercy, and joy which is louder than a flattery of words. When we welcome the small, the least, forgive freely, and walk in trust-we become living witnesses of resurrection.

Let our hearts become signs on earth proclaiming Christ with littleness. For in the small, the kingdom is revealed-and through the small, the world is renewed.

Lord Jesus, in my littleness I submit to Your will that my witness be authentic and transmits Your wisdom.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day jul be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
