Jesus' family is looking for Him. Jesus replies, "My mother and my brothers are those who hear the Word of God and put it into practice." (Lk. 8:21). Is Jesus being rude? No, Jesus has deep respect for His mother. Jesus widens the bounds of who His family is. If we choose to hear the Word of God and act accordingly, we become members of Jesus' family.

Proverbs provides an image: "Like flowing water is the heart of the king in the hand of the Lord, Who turns it where He pleases." (Prov. 21:1). Although the king has great authority, he bows his will to God. He lets God lead. Do we bow our will to the Will of God like flowing water? When we choose to live according to Jesus' voice and God's Will, this is beautiful to God.

How do we know what God desires? What is God's Will for me? Notice what in life draws you closer to God, what gives you deep peace in Jesus, what makes you feel Jesus is close, even if what you are doing is not easy. Ask Jesus for the grace to hear His voice more clearly. What if God's call makes us worried? We can talk honestly to Jesus about these fears. Trust Jesus will give us what we need to follow Him. He wants us to be blessed.

Lord, help me to know Your desire for my life and help me to live this out.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer you everything I do this day. I offer you my prayers, thoughts, words, joys and sufferings in union with the Eucharistic sacrifice of your Son Jesus Christ. May the Holy Spirit who guided and empowered Jesus be my guide and strength so that I can be a witness to your love. Amen.
