The first reading reflects on the nature of life, with everything having its place under the seasons of life. These things, which may consist of opposites like joy and sorrow, creation and destruction, hiding and letting go, often find their way to be inserted into our daily life, especially at the most humanly incomprehensible moments of time.

Jesus warned His disciples not to reveal His identity to anyone after Peter professed Him as the Christ. At that point, it wasn't Jesus' time yet to be known to the public. Why was that so? People expected the Messiah to be like a military liberator with political intentions. However, Jesus came to conquer sin, not Rome. And to do this, He had to go through suffering, death and resurrection. The climax of His revelation would occur during His trial before the Sanhedrin, where He explicitly affirmed that He was the Messiah and the Son of God. Like the crowd, we undergo such moments too. There are times when we are blind to God being present to us always. Perhaps it is not time yet for us to see that fact. But we are assured that someday our eyes will be opened to see Jesus the Christ walking with us through the ups and downs of life. No matter what the seasons of life might be throwing at me, may I have the perseverance to live with faith, hope and love.
