Like Moses, we as Christians, are called to bring the good News that this God of infinite love and mercy has come to set all captives free. Yes, the great I Am has promised that He, Himself, will do the delivering job. On our part we must be bold enough to preach the Good News and be willing and ready to go "into the desert" and offer ourselves as a living sacrifice with prayer and supplication for the deliverance of all.

The Gospel text continues to re-affirm and to show us the compassionate heart of God who has come to free us from the bondage of slavery and heavy loads. The only way to enter the "God's rest" is to learn from the Master Himself and to follow His footsteps. He is gentle and humble in spirit (Mt. 11:29). To do otherwise, in both our actions and reactions to life's events and "heavy loads", is to perpetuate the oppressive spirit of Pharoah and the Egyptians. So let us cast our burdens on Him and learn from Him who is gentle and humble in spirit that we may enter His rest.

God of compassion, show us Your mercy and we will be saved.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That governments and those responsible for the economy and finance of the world, may make an effort to guarantee all peoples the necessary means to live in a dignified way.
