"Blest are your eyes...blest are your ears..." Jesus' words to His disciples are surely meant also for us, His present-day disciples. That is, we too are blest in what our eyes see and our ears hear. But what do we really see and hear? So many people are looking and listening out for some "sign" or "vision", some meaning in life, some explanation for what happens. So many people have heard about Christ, maybe even heard the words of scripture, seen and met Christians seen the goodness and power of Christ at work in the life and work of His disciples. Yet, they don't really see or hear at all as they do not believe.

Do I really believe Jesus saying that I've been blest in what I've seen and heard? Maybe my eyes and ears have not fully appreciated or even understood what I've seen and heard. In my prayer should I not ask the Lord to teach me to see and hear what He's shown me and told me? For perhaps I've not been paying enough attention. In all the world around me, in everything that happens, in the people who are part of my life, the Lord speaks and shows Himself, and He's given me eyes and ears to recognise Him. Let me spend a little time to reflect each day on my passing life, and so become more aware and sensitive to His presence, to what He's been showing me and telling me. Let me ask Him to understand where and how He's touched my life and to give Him praise and thanks.

Lord, thank You for Your words of blessing.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
