Is the faith we embraced worth sharing? If it is, what are we doing about it?
In our readings today, there are two different responses to the Word. In the Gospel, there is the response that says that "there will come a time when anyone who kills you will think he is doing a holy duty for God ... because they have never known either the Father or myself." However in Acts, there is the joyous response of Lydia, who not only accepted the words of Paul, but was also baptized together with her household and became in the end a benefactor of the faith.
The challenge is for us to ponder how we may effectively be a witness for our Lord. How do others see Christ incarnated in us? In what ways do we endeavour to share the Lord of Life with our family, friends and acquaintances?
Given the "hardness of heart" in some, still the onus lies with us to share the Word, and leave the rest to the Spirit of Truth who will open their hearts just as He opened the heart of Lydia.
May God grant us perseverance, tact, wisdom and love to be His witnesses.
