If I could change something about my relationship with God, what would it be? Is there something I can do to more fully live out my identity as a Christian?

The prayer, fasting and almsgiving we are invited to these days of Lent are not goals in themselves, but rather ways through which we can grow in personal integrity, just relationships, and praise of God. We are called to make a change, to alter our lifestyles, and to refocus on what is most important in our lives. This is the spirit of repentance.

In the Book of Joel we see that although the Israelites have been unfaithful to God, the Lord is still willing to take them back, if only they will turn back.

Everyone is in need of repentance. No matter what we have done, how we have strayed, or for how long, the Lord is willing to take us back. Today is a great day to be reconciled to God. In the quiet of our rooms and the quiet of our hearts, let us ask God for insight and grace to be more honest with ourselves, more generous to others and more faithful to Christ.

Lord, today I turn to You.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That the Pastors of the Church may always be docile to the action of the Holy Spirit in their teaching and in their service to God's people.
