Women were the first to receive and announce the Good News of the Resurrection. However, women or men, they were as unprepared for His resurrection as they were for His death. The empty tomb made them fearful and joyful at the same time. Even though Jesus had spoken to them before His death and rising, they could not believe until they saw the empty tomb and met the risen Lord, standing before them. In their hearts, they realised it was Him, they knelt and worshiped Him; though logically, their heads were reluctant and slow to believe.

Aren't we the same? We want to see with our own eyes before we believe! They were told not to be afraid and go immediately to tell the other disciples. Scriptures tell us that "faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." (Heb 11:1) Through the gift of faith, the Lord reveals Himself to those who believe in His Word and He fills them with new life in His Holy Spirit. Those who take the Gospel seriously and try to live according to its vision have all the confirmation they need that it is the recipe for a joyful and fulfilled life. May my heart leap to faith even though my head may be slower to believe. And may my hand be swift to serve.

Lord, I believe in You and I want to serve You, especially in others.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day jul be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
For priests in crisis.
Let us pray for priests going through moments of crisis in their vocation, that they may find the accompaniment they need and that communities may support them with understanding and prayer.
