In the past one year or so, there has been a boom in AI generated videos. They range in topics, like relationships, religion and courtroom cases. Personally, I do not know how genuine the situations portrayed in these videos are, especially those in the courtroom. The majority of the videos show the showdown between policies/rules and compassion. To be honest, these videos are really not brainless because it is very clear that many policies are clinical and cold and devoid of humanity. The worst thing is that the ones who try to enforce the policy feel that they are right.

The Gospel today talks about forgiveness, being forgiven and giving forgiveness. Here we see a servant being forgiven but refusing to forgive, thinking that he now has the right to enforce debt repayment. Logic dictates that only when a person is free to work can he pay off his debts. Putting a fellow servant in prison will not help the situation. In every aspect of life, compassion and justice must be our guiding principle. While rules and policies are important, it does not, and should not, reduce humanity to a mere set of rules and regulations. Let us pray that we do not lose our humanity in the development of our technology.

Lord God, I pray for compassion for others.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer you everything I do this day. I offer you my prayers, thoughts, words, joys and sufferings in union with the Eucharistic sacrifice of your Son Jesus Christ. May the Holy Spirit who guided and empowered Jesus be my guide and strength so that I can be a witness to your love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
Let us pray that in large cities often marked by anonymity and loneliness, we find new ways to proclaim the Gospel, discovering creative paths to build community.
